What do your customers expect?

Pretty good info on this board and everyone seems really helpful...good to see. I am contemplating getting in this business and wanted to know what is expected of us when fleet washing? Does a typical job consist of power washing outside, vacuming inside, windexing windows, and wiping down dashes etc? Do you polish chrome or does powerwashing with chemical give a desired result?

I wish I could give some advice in return, but I know very little about this subject. If you want to know anything about flying airplanes I can probably help though!

Thanks!

It varies from fleet to fleet. Talk to the owner/dispatcher or whomever is in charge of the trucks. Get their expectations written down on a contract that way there is no mistaking what they are receiving.

You can use chems to keep chrome shiny or chems and mitts or brushes. It depends on how you plan on washing the trucks.

It's all a mutual agreement between customer and contractor. Some want this---don't want that. But ditto to Larry. Get it in writing.

We do an exterior wash, vaccum the inside, and Windex the windows typically. Anything after that is extra. That is the typical practice for NY it probably varies from state to state.

WE do not open the doors and do their house cleaning, outside only.

Matter fact I would not want a key to every truck nor be responsable for thief

I don't like the extra responsibility but I make the customer pay for it. I carry garage keepers insurance and a CDL for moving the trucks. Most of the time they are parked too close together or I have to move them too the wash rack.
