When It Rains It Pours

Well I was at a job this morning cleaning alot of concrete. The temp was 36-degrees when I started, chill to the bone. Everything was going great and it even started to warm up. Halfway into the job while I was using my pump up sprayer to hit a few grease spots, the button which you push down on to spray totally falls apart. After I was done and putting things back into my trailer I noticed that my 65-gallon house wash mix tank was leaking. I thought to myself, what else could go wrong? Well I looked down and one of my trailer tires was flat and as though the tire was rubbing it into my face, the nail (roofing), was right there in the corner thread where I could easliy see. Well I spent some time on my hands and knees changing the tire infront of my customer that was very happy that all her concrete went from pitch black in color to like new. So as you can see what started out not that bad, changes real fast. I will be spending tomorrow fixing the leak in my tank. By the way the leak is from the ball valve. I have never seen a ball valve totally fall apart and that is exactly what happened. I hope everyone else has a better day ahead. Hugh

I look at it like this. In two years I have been lucky with very little problems, so the pain didn't last very long. I am just glad it was a problem with my equipment and not something I did to my customers property. I guess this is what we can normal when we are in business for ourselves. I am trying to get used to all this cool weather up here, I still remember how warm fall & winters were in Key West. Burr! Hugh

I had a better day also, I stayed home and fixed my leaky 65-gallon tank. I was very surprised when I took the ball valve off the end of my tank. The ball inside the valve that shuts the flow of chemical off had completely disolved. All that was left was the top handle turning nothing inside. Has anyone else had this problem with your chemicals over time disolving the insides of the ball valve? I just happen to have a new ball valve that appears to be contructed alot better that the one that I am replacing. I also had to alittle floor repair, the house wash mix ate the rhino black paint off in a few spots that I had sprayed in my trailer. I have found that if I use a black tar used on repairing leaky roofs, it drys hard and when the bleach mix gets on it, it doesn't breakdown at all. I found this out today when I cleaned up the leakage I had. Tommorrow I will install my 65-gallon tank again after the floor drys nice and hard. Hugh [white]
