I am interested in getting into pressure washing and was wondering what make and model of pressure washer you recommend. And how much PSI will i need? Also do i need a towable water tank for a pressure washer, or is it typical to use the homeowners/business' water faucet? Any help is appreciated.

Mark,

Welcome to The Power Wash Network!

What do you intend to clean? A good all around package would be
our All American PH 5535HGOD. 5.5 GPM @ 3500 PSI powered by a
20 HP Honda, mounted on our single axel trailer, with a 230# tank
and 2 hose reels etc.

Depending on the market you intend to pursue, this could be too
much or too little machine!

Check it out, call me for details. :)

Mark,
What is the black object above the 2nd black jug from the right???Us that a K1 unloader??I like the unloader mounted on the block this is something we are getting ready to do.I don't like the extra strain it puts on the pump housing and constantly having watching to make sure the fittings haven't cracked.

Getting started with the right unit.

I am just getting started also and am looking at a unit that has a General pump 13hp Honda 4gpm and 3500psi. I am on a buget and this is the largest i could find for my $1200 limit, Plus it has the basics tips, wand, chemical injector, 50' hose. And a SS frame. Does that sound like a good start?

Scott & Mark.... Is it really better to use the mounting block... THere is one on my skid unit and I have a K-7 mounted directly on my back-up machine... Where can I get a mounting block?

I started with a similar unit... Home Depot has a similar unit 4gpm / 13 HP machine with hose for about 900.00

Squirtgun,

That is a K-7 unloader with mounting block,
the KZ-1 unloader is optional. The black object is a
pulsation dampener.

I have the same skid, and it's a tank. It runs and runs. The mounting block is especially nice since K-7's seem to fail more often than pressure unloaders. Replacement time is reduced because everything is in the open, easy to get at, just plain better.

I bought this unit for hot water purposes only. I don't run it without the burner on. Mostly used for commercial work.

I have several cold water portables that do everything I expect cold water to do....decks, fences, house washing, etc. Basically used for residential work.

The 13hp Honda with General would be a great starter machine. My first machine was a direct drive, because I had to stretch every dollar I had.

After you see how things work out, you'll eventually want to upgrade to better equipment.

Mark is the guy to talk to for better equipment.
