Who has their units in enclosed trailers?

Hi Guys
As most of you know from some of my previous posts that I am setting up my first enclosed trailer unit and have quite a few questions. So I just wanted to pic the brains of some of you who have been there and either learn from your ideas or your mistakes.
I currently have a new elite H/C 5gpm with vangard motor. Basically it is a RK21 with a 12v burner and a Cat pump. I also have a 200gal water tank in it also.
Trailer is a 6x12 with 2 roof vents, 36in side door and double doors in the back. My basic concern is Heat.
I would like to vent the heater thru the roof. Has anyone done that with a RK21? What size (oval or round dia pipe did you use? Did you make your adapter?
What did you do for a roof vent?

Other problem is, will my unit get too hot inside trailer? Thanks for all the help. Tim Highfield

Tim, I have a 7'x12' enclosed trailer which is a great addition to have in this industry. You can lock it up and drop it off at a job if need be. In my trailer I have a couple of 3000psi cold water pw's and a couple of surface cleaners along with other tools of the trade. When I use the cold water pw's I just wheel them out of the trailer. I also have a 3000 psi hot water landa pw which is much larger and heavier then the cold water pw's and would take up more space then those 2 combined. I bought a forklift hand truck from northern that can lift 800lbs 5ft off the ground. With this I load the landa pw in my pickup and I take it off later in the season when the cold weather comes to store it in my garage. This doesn't really answer your question but it is another alternative.

Hey Tim,
We also have our unit in an enclosed trailer. The heat was a concern for us also. Gets to be 100 sometimes here in the summer. We simply open up the side door and drop the back door and make sure the vent is open on top. We also put an extension pipe on the exhaust pipe pointing straight up to the vent. We have not had a problem yet and it did hit 100 last summer. Give me an email if you want further details.
)

John,

How much did that forklift/hand truck cost? Sounds like a valuable tool to have around......

Hey Tim, An enclosed trailer is the way to go in our opinion. Out of the elements and protection from potential theft. Wouldn't really recommend venting thru the roof. Resale would take a hit. Talk to your local sheetmetal guys and have them construct a 90 degree elbow, w/oval pipe, and take it out the back or side depending on how you have your PW set in the trailer. We haven't had a problem with overheating and believe it or not it does get VERY hot here w/high humidity. Something you might want to consider is tying your engine exhaust into the burner exhaust - again your local sheetmetal guy. Any further questions e-mail us at
