Will this work for 2 stepping

I brushed a grain hauler last weekend in 100 heat because my supposed touchless cleaner didn't do the trick. So I've read all I can find on two step process and I think maybe I have it. This is what I think I'll try.

The soap I have now contains Sodium Hydroxide and Glycol Ethers. It does great on removing bugs and makes the chrome and stainless look good.

I have an aluminum brightner that contains Hydrofluric Acid and Sulfuric Acid. I use it on live haul pig trailers. It works great. I use both at about 6 ounces per gallon.

This is my plan.

Apply the aluminum brightner with a pump up spray then apply the soap downstream with my p/w. Then rinse like crazy.

Does this make sense?
Do I need to rinse the aluminum brightner before the soap or put the soap right on top?
Can the aluminum brightner go on windshields?
How much aluminum brightner should I use?

Does this sound like it will work or am I going the wrong way?

You are one the right track. Acid first, then soap finish with a rinse.
The acid loosens the dirt bond and the reaction with the soap lifts the dirt off. You need this reaction for 2 stepping to work.
As for your ratio, with a good quality acid/soap you can cut to 50:1 with cold water and sometimes as high as 100:1 with hot water.

Keep acids off the glass. Especially those with HF.

Learn how to apply the brightner though your downstreamer, its alot faster than a pumpup.

The soap goes a top of the brightner....

No,do not apply to windsheild, all other glass on the truck is ok to apply to.

How much you should use will depend on the degree of dirtness of the rig, play with your mix until you get what your looking for.

I do 5 aluminium garbage haulers each month. They the large bucket trailers for bulk and they get mighty dirty. The way these are loaded gets one side coverd with all types of filth. The owner wants the filthy side to look as good as the other side when wash is completed. Normally this would not be a problem but this is home-owners trash with any and all things from kitchen garbage to garage trash to paint and so forth.
I tried many different soaps, using the 2 steep process, to get it done and finally found that if I put the soap on frist and let it dwell then a quick rince and then aluma brite I was able to get a lot more of the oils out of the aluminum and that included paint. I also found that a lot of the stains were coming out that I was not able to get out before.
This is the onley instance it has worked this way (back wards 2-step) with the exception of wheels. I wash between 80 to 120 pieces a month.

I agree with the backward 2-step on some things, expectly oily surfaces, the soap breaks the oil for the brightner to make surface contact.Even applying soap, brightner and soap again on some things to remove all the oil and stains.
