X-Jet Problem?

I have new M-5 X-Jet....Used it yesterday for first time.
3500/5.6 Machine....Size 13 Orifice....

Now for the question....As long as the X-jet was not drawing soap it performed normal.....a good stream up to 35-40 feet.
As soon as I opened the valve to start drawing soap the stream dropped down to about 20 feet and was a spray.... not a good solid stream...turn the valve off and sha-zam....nice tight stream and distance returned. Was using the hose that came with it and only 50 feet of HP hose....Anyone have any clue?

Thanks....
Bob

Bob,

Welcome to the Power Wash Network!

Was the siphon hose submerged in liquid when you opened the valve? Do you have any other orfices that came with the x-jet?

I had the same thing happen on mine. My pump is the same specs as your.

your draw is 2.5-1 meaning you are pulling over 2 gallons of water per minute thru the x jet - giving you over 8gpm from the m-5. In giving this answer I am asuming that you are not using a proportioner and have the 3/8 inch suction hose on the M-5. The 3/8 inch suction allows better draw and less restriction and therfor better output than the 1/4 inch hose. This is the sumation of what I have been told and the little usage with mine.
I use a propotioner and it works fine at throwing water long distance and adjusting the fan spray..
