ive been hearing about this x-jet, what are the pros and cons about it, it may be covered in my last post but im having a problem with tall houses, i get the chemical to soak on the top of the house, but when i rinse it seems like i never touched it, i have a telescoping wand and belt i bought, like 300 bucks, but even with the belt that thing is a nightmare, almost like i would have to get on a ladder with a scrub brush.... but then that would defeat the purpose of the power washer right? and after i let the chemicals sitfor 5-1 mins, i still have to use a 15 degree tip to wash the dirt off, we're kinda new to doing houses so if anyone else has had this problem in the past please let me know wat im doing wrong...thanks alot

It's most likely your detergent. What are you using? With the right chems, downstreaming is just fine. 40 psi is all we use to clean vinyl from the ground.

x jet

hey thanks for responding, we use a chemical called 'brite side' it was recmended from the company we get our equipment from, atlantic power washers. they said mix 1 gallon to every 5 gallons of water, w/ downtream.. maybe ill try another chemical out and see if it works better.i also have an extenda-wand fiberglass wand 18' but that thing is a pain.we d get alot of acid rain too maybe that makes it worse. ill have to try to maybe disturb it with a brush and extenson, not to fond of ladders, thanks for the info.

I hate to say it, but sounds like the recommended some worthless detergent to you. Bleach, bleach, bleach, bleach, bleach. It'll clean your house. If you know where you can get some 12.5% and what your gpm is, I can tell you how to mix it for your xjet. Still, as some of you have already heard me say, I like zero degree soap tips of xjets any day.

basically, you shouldn't need a telescoping wand on nearly any house.

i dont have an x-jet but im debatng ongetting one, sounds like they get the job done, with all my tips the only one that will reach high up on the house is the 0 but by time it gets there the pressure is gone, almost like a mist. i guess from what i hear the x-jet shoots like a stream kinda, almost like a garden ouse but with more pressure

using the proportioner chart that comes with your xjet to determine which color proportioner you should use is something everyone needs to learn how to do. i've talked to a lot of people who seem to forget that there are proportioners for the xjet and instead dilute the bleach before xjeting. think about it. the only purpose for the proportioners is to save you all that mixing. that means less stopping to refill your bucket. you want your bleach percentage to be probably 1%. if you're starting with 12.5% bleach, which hopefully you are, at 4 gpm the beige proportioner gives you 10:1. The math: 12.5/11=1.13% You should do just fine with that setup.

So to answer your question, don't mix your bleach at all. Use the right proportioner. I would personally throw some soap in with it because I like to see the suds and added cling time. In my area, it's only mold on the siding, no atmospheric junk to warrant using degreasers or citrus cleaners.

as i've been preaching though, ZERO DEGREE SOAP TIPS ROCK! I would use one over an xjet anyday, and they cost $9 instead of $140

Also, some Home Improvement places who's initials are HD even carry a dewalt brand xjet for only $39.

I would choose the M5 jet over the xjet, because you can adjust your fan of spray as you move around the house.

where do you get a zero degree soap tip?

Call any place that sells PW equipment and ask for a 0040 tip. They are $4, mine should be here next week, I will let you know how it works.

well i used my buddies x-et today on one of my jobs, man i love that thing, much better than the regular tips, applying the chemicals with it seems so much better andmore effective then the regular black tip that came w/ my machine. only had to use my telescoping wand 2 times for a few mins, that x-jet seems like the next best thing since sliced bread, thanks for all of your help and input guys...

I got my new 0040 tip in yesterday and put it to the test today...by far the best $4 I ever spent since I started in 2001. I could apply chemicals from the ground with a 3 ft. wand all the way to the top of a 40 ft. duplex. With the black tip I would have to stand on the top rung of an 8ft. step ladder with a 9ft. wand. No XJET for me, I saved about 40 minutes on a four hour job. That is substantial, since Mon-Fri I can't start my first job until 3:30. I need all the help I can get...I have 150 duplexes that need to be finished by July 4th.
