    TIP/WARNING - RE: Mail Boxes

Hi Jon, I guess I should have mentioned that the plastic bags are clear plastic. The potential customer never has to open the bag. He/She can read the flyer through the clear plastic. If I have a job in a subdivision that I haven't worked in before, and the subdivision has 250 homes, I'll pass...

    TIP/WARNING - RE: Mail Boxes

Instead of tacking flyers to mailboxes, this is what I started doing a couple years ago, and it has worked well for me. I buy 6" x 12" x .002 mil plastic bags in boxes of 1000. I think I pay about $15.00 per 1000, or about 1.5 cents each. Look in the YP under bags. I have a nice half page...

Has anyone ever used any Duckback(Superdeck) stains?

Just for the record, there are two Larry Staton's on this board. Both from GA. In my opinion, superdeck is a fair product. There's a contractor in my area that uses nothing but superdeck products. It seems to hold up for a year or two. If you have a ICI store in your area ( formally Glidden )...

    Twp

TWP(Total Wood Preservative) is an excellent product. I've used it for 4 years, and never had any problems with a deck turning black, and I live in a very humid climate. With proper prep and applied properly, you can expect 2-3 years color retention on a flat surface. TWP does not contain...

    Sodium Percarbonate

Thanks for replying Chris. I was told by my chemical supplier that it was, but I just wanted to confirm it. Larry

REPAIRS, this is a great add on if you want one!

You're right Rob. We do alot of repairs and also build a few decks a year. We try to save the deck building for colder months, which is only about 2 months out of the year down here in GA. This past January we built a deck using 3/4" copper waterpipe for the handrail spindles. Supposedly, after...

Does anybody know what the difference is between Sodium Percarbonate and Disodium Peroxydicarbonate. I was told they were the exact same chemical. Thanks, Larry

    Log Home Sikkens removal

Thanks to all that replied. I contacted the homeowner last night and explained the difficulty in this paticular job. I told him it could run between 15-20k, and if he was still interested I would get him a firm bid. He said that he could live with the shine for that much. Thanks again, Larry

    Log Home Sikkens removal

I just want to say thanks for this great board Dan, and thanks Tim Cross for your help last Weds. night. We have restored 6 log homes, and sealed 2 new log homes in the past 3 years. Plus we have restored several cedar sided homes. This mourning, I went to bid on a log home that has 3 year old...
