    Cold night

Dominic. I live were it gets very cold. We clean hoods year round. The only thing you have to watch out for is the pitch of the roof.I have never had a fan freeze up on me. I have slid off a steep roof in the winter and landed on the a.c. unit. I didn't put the bolts back in the fan until...

Anyone ever hear of this company?

We have Sparkle Wash franchise in our area and have for a long time. The owner of the local franchise has 6 trucks on the road and does a pretty decent job. He sends hood work our way and we send fleet work his way. Their rates are a tad lower than ours, they are getting 25-26.00 per truck. Not...

    What else do you do?

Charlie, Besides doing lots and lots of hoods we found something rather lucrative to do on the weekends, as you know most restaurants don't want you there on the weekends. CHIPPENDALE DANCERS, yep that's what we do on the weekends - almost as much money for 2 days stripping as working 45 plus...

    Cleaned my first exhaust

Daren, Congrats and welcome to the wonderful wacky world of exhaust hood cleaning. No, all roofs aren't like that unless they haven't been cleaned in a very long time or the filters are shot or nonexistent. Next time you wash there it won't be such a nightmare for you. Have fun, John & Pat DBA...

    Pricing on Machinery?

FYI, we generally get 35.00 per man 35.00 for the machine / both per hour. Also 11.00 per gallon of chemical. This is a number that construction / contractors are used to in that it is pretty close to what they charge. Hope this helps. Rock On John & Pat DBA Maxey's Mobile Wash LLC...

    Shop-Vac's

Doug, we recently purchased a Sears heavy duty commercial grade, 18 gal. Modified it a little by placing a sump pump in it. Works great, but we are curious about the vac described in the post above your most recent one. Rock On John & Pat ------------------

    Fishing anybody

Bigboy, I am a musky fishing manic. There is nothing better than seeing a 50 inch fish getting ready to hit your bait. I once had a very big musky eat a 30 inch pike that was on a stringer at boat side that was the coolest thing i have ever seen.... Washman ------------------

    How do you do it?

In reference to 2-stepping, there are less expensive ways i.e. equipment to that particular method of fleet washing. We have washed fleets for the better part of 5 yrs and we have found this system works best all around. Removing dirt and road film, making the aluminum look like new!! Would...

Who has their units in enclosed trailers?

Hey Tim, An enclosed trailer is the way to go in our opinion. Out of the elements and protection from potential theft. Wouldn't really recommend venting thru the roof. Resale would take a hit. Talk to your local sheetmetal guys and have them construct a 90 degree elbow, w/oval pipe, and take...

    A Veteran Laugh

It would be kind of funny to see that open trailer being yanked around in the snow, course you guys in the south don't have to worry about that sort of thing. The audacity of those folks to try to sell a trailer package without any kind of offer to train. It's bad enuf they are trying to sell...

    chems $$$$

Rudy, if we read your question properly I beleive the proper response would be yes. We do charge for time & materials. That is why it is called time & MATERIALS. We charge our hourly rate - based on the type of job than we figure at least $10.00 / gallon for chemical, cleaning solution or...
