As our 22nd year in cleaning parking structures begins, we find ourselves facing a growth problem. We simply do not know whether to expand or start saying NO to new customers. So we have decided to step up to the plate and continue to build more custom Parking Garage Cleaning equipment so that we may reach our goal of handling up to 650,000 sq ft in a day with FULL reclamation to exceed California's strict discharge requirements.
To help us with this task, I call George Podell & Co Inc. from Hot and Mighty. You see, for our unique situation, we need large custom equipment that is currently not on the market.
George spent 2 hours on the phone with me discussing types of jobs that this unit will be ask to do. come to find out that George and I hit allot of the same INDUSTRIAL cleaning challenges in our lives. There are few in this industry that I can say " Knows their stuff". George Podell is one of them. He agrees that when it comes to oil removal, 300 degrees under full pressure of 4,000 psi is the way to go.
Though I may continue to design and build my own equipment, I am looking into the possibilities of George Podell & Co Inc. to custom build some equipment to our unique specs; with the possibly he could build them at a manufacture volume cost list which would be lower then my 6 machine price list. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem building the units myself and I may still build our own equipement... I am just seeing if George Podell & Co Inc can build them at a reduce cost and possibly a better design due to his volume of builds. This will be a price challenge for him. A challenge that he is well equipped to handle. I have no reservations on his quality or engineering design abilities.
As far as the Boilers, we are going to Coils R US. They will be making our 3/4 inch custom boiler units to meet our 1.35+ million BTU's per boiler. That's 250,000+ BTU's per boiler MORE then what we have currently. These boilers will be designed to safely meet our requirements; to hit 325 degrees at 7 GPM's at 4,500 PSI.
The chanlenge.... To build units that are extremely well made and over BUILT/ Designed to meet our unique requirements. Spec's to meet or exceed our standards of 78% to capacity limits. Able to run 24 hours NON stop without over heating or premature wear. To achieve this without the use of Hydraulics.
Trailer will be custom built By American Trailers here in California. This trailer will be able to fit INSIDE our 8.5 ft wide 27k triple axle, if needed. Main trailer is being designed to house two large Garage Cleaning machines plus this trailer. Eliminating two trucks needed for towing.
Trucks...2011 3500 Dually Dodge Cumins crew cabs 4x4 with 800 lbs of torque and 390 hp. These "NEW" trucks will be in addition to our current trucks on hand. We also will keep our 1999 3500 4x4 Dodge Cummins 6 speed with 480 HP Dyno tested. And our 1998 2500 4x4 (290 HP). All smog tested and passed to strict Calif. smog requirements. The benefit of these smaller trucks are the ability to fit inside lower parking structures of 6 foot 5 inches whereas our 2011's can only fit inside a 6'8 inch height clearance.
I want to thank Jim C and Nigel for their added support and knowledge in working out the possible issues of building these extreme machines.
