"A PWNA conversation"for members and non members

Just read the entire thread. Very interesting.

The PWNA needs a good marketing campaign. Your number one salesman should be your members. The members can give the your organization credibility with the public.

With that said: The PWNA should help the members be salesman. Develop flyers (handouts) explaining what the PWNA mission is all about. In that handout - explain why a pressure washing contractor that is a Member of the PWNA is better than a non member.

When a contractor joins the PWNA, send them a package -- in that package, include 50 or so handouts, bumper sticker, etc.

The member: Hands out these flyers with every bid or makes copies for mail-outs, etc. The member puts the PWNA logo on everything they do. Everything. The PWNA has to educate their members on how to promote the organization. The members will promote the PWNA, if its helping their business.

With that said: Offer correspondence courses and certifications. Customers like to hear the word certifications.

There are a ton of ways to market this organization at minimum cost.

Have the conventions in a more central location. St. Louis would be good. haha

The membership is low -- Ask why?

I've yet to have one single person ask me to join. Its hard to recruit when a lot of your members stay only on the PWNA board.

Marketing is the key. I do not see any from the PWNA.

Old saying in business - if the membership (customers) are down - fire the person in charge of Marketing.

After further investigating :

I do believe that belonging to such a group would only enhance the everyday operations of pressure washing.

Even though it was a rough ride ; for the most part it was only an attempt to get questions answered. Thanks to everybody who took time out to either read or answer the same old questions.

For the people that are involved in the PWNA ......... I tip my hat to ya' ! You are doing a fine job.

Just a thought, I just went through a rough experience with PWNA through the BBS. Although at this time, I do not believe being a member will enhance our business, it seems to be steering in the right direction.

Although, I think PWNA might be distributor top heavy on the board some are also Pressure Washing companies. I would like to see additional (Pressure Washing Only) board members that understand the needs of all member and just not a select few.

The orginazation as a whole is a good dream that can be a reality with the proper management and possible grants from the Government.

But to no end, I think everyone should at least take a look and decide for yourself.

I bet those that put the gloves on over at the PWNA will be surprised to see this one.

I dont know ! I guess it is always a possibility!!

I would like to see some changes.......But i cant change the world and not one voice can do it either. It has to have a plan and then empliment on that plan.

Funny how you either are for or against PWNA, no middle group.

The whole concept at the begining was to benefit those that started it with their businesses but now it is changing some.

I say some as I am sure a few of the orginal members are still working behind the board in place, can't prove it and it would not matter.

What I don't get is how anti PWNA this board is, I am new here but I have read this whole thread and it is so easy to see who hates and who likes others.

Rather then opening up your eyes and mind to change you continue to spew out venom and hate making yourself stand out in a crowd.

Take it for what it is worth but that says a lot, few friends who like you other then those that also hate all others, be it an organization, people of color or religion.

If you don't believe in the PWNA fine no one says you have to, just stop putting it and those that believe down.

In other words GROW UP.

Join and get back to us in a few years and you tell us what your thoughts at that time. Some of us just see the same thing and the same problems. Don't blame us for the problems of PWNA membership and other issues or none issues.

Have you ever noticed the businesses you expect or know of someone being ripped off from or scammed from always seem to have a BBB sticker in the window or say they are a member of the BBB?

All you have to do is pay a membership and you are a BBB member. No qualifications, no back ground checks, no nothing... Write a check and you are in.

Have you ever tried to file a report against a BBB member? I have and called back 6-months later and was told that business had no complaints against it.

I really don't see the difference...
