That is very well written John ... However as I was reading it I had to stop and think about why you still have to belong to a group to land the big jobs > I guess some folks need it, others like myself has landed several big jobs , A few where I had to look for subs for completion. Also if you buy your equipment local you have all the support `ya need close by . And as far as learning the trade , The best way is still the best way >> get out and do it and learn as `ya go ! About the only thing I can see that would be a benefit is having a meeting place where `ya have a good excuse to leave the house and hang out with "buds" of like interest . buy a few several rounds of brew and have a good time....... But even @ that if you are close to your competitors you could call them up and seek advice and maybe meet for a brew at the local h20 hole.
I reakon I see it much different then most . I dont see where spending your money for "dues" is a option. I would rather prefer to put that same "due" money back into your biz. or give it away to some one @ need !!

But .........>> again as stated above >> what he wrote was very good and I hope you guys have a gr8 time .

Hey Dan,
Your right org life is not for everyone. Some love it some hate it and some think its OK and other think its not so good. So whatever floats there boats. I like it and I got some neat jobs thru my connections I made there. I love hanging with these guys at these shows. The wealth of knowledge in these get togethers is amazing and yup we all have a few Drinks together and just talk shop. Its fun if your into that.

I would like to thank John and Kathy for their awesome prize. I look forward to meeting them at the convention. It is great to see a fellow contractor to put it out there to help another. I was going to the convention but was not going to be able to afford to stay for the entire time. Thanks to their generosity now I can. Pack up that skid unit boys, it’s coming to my house.

Thanks
