O K
....I said something about farmers co-op,let me go alittle deeper. They were several Big farmers trying get it started back years ago, they tried, they tried, they tried, then some guys other then farmers seen $$$$ so farmers co-op finally got going. This was good for all farmers but it was great for the smaller farmer which they where the one that made it happen by buying there. They could get that they need in supplies and fuel........That this did...It put alot of companys out of business, like local fuel companys,seed,feed,Chemical,ect.ect........The big guys at the co-op seen what happening and they seen $$$$$ again so the prices at the co-op started up.The farmer had no choose but to buy things there all of their other suppliers where gone....Co-op prices goes up some more....it was hard on the smaller farm....(look at all the small farmers that are going out business today)co-op goes again..again..to the point you can buy else where at the same price..but where..the other companys aren't there no more..so alot of the things the farmer buys there today is because he has to he can't get no where else.O K look at what some of the bigger farmers are doing today. One they are buying their own fuel by the tanker load because they can get it cheaper then what the co-op can sell to them for,but he still deals with the co-op on other needs but he's bitching about the prices.

I had dealing with the farmer co-op up until 7 years ago, thats when dad died.I've had two jobs all my life one as saleman and one as a farmer.I worked on the farm 7 days aweek and way into the night though the week just to help dad.I grewup as the co-op was forming it was a good thing at first and for several years it was good then one day it happened prices started up..we'll
..else where because as a member and a farmer we thought the prices where unfair..
..but where..
..

We still buy from the co-op tho reason why, they have pretty will what you need at todays prices plus still get a little check off percentage.

The co-op had its ups and downs when first starting out,you could buy just a few things, they had it hard for awhile then all of a sudden boom they started popping up everywhere which was good we could buy even more things. When all that happened I told dad I think someone else come in the door...a fews years later they didn't care if you were a member or not they were saling to anyy and everyboddy.Which was good it made that percentage check wittle bigger. At the meets they had you could stand up to be heard but it took more 2 cents worth before they would listen.

The co-op will be good after up jump all the rivers,it will finally get the lowballer out but it will take it awhile it want happen over night. Some of us want get to see it but aren't you looking at this in years to come.As I said before it will be tough getting started may have to do some leg work,But it will work.

Oh Boy! *GRIN*

First thing is FIRST!
CRAIG ................. a comment that you made in your post was - There is no money after startup, you don't need it.
GREAT!! So you personally are donating the time to negotiate these prices, and long distance phone calls?

This is reality! Not an I DREAM OF JEANNIE episode where it can be done with a twinkle of the nose!

CODY ............a comment that you made in your post was -
A nice little note here, why have the prices come down so much on this
equipment? It's because more pressure cleaning supply companies have popped up and created more competition
within the industry thus lowering prices as a whole!!!! NOW, Competition is a good thing right?????
Ummmmmmmmmmm I don't think so!!

BUT ... You want to join a group to get LOWER PRICES?
hmmmm! .... okay!!???

what am I missing? Explain it.

You can't join on BOTH sides of this issue!

ANOTHER THING ............ You said -
The whole goal of
being in business for yourself is to make money. Since I have the time I can look for good buys. So I do. However, I
DO NOT want to make even lower prices available to my competitors.

PART ONE OF THIS POST SEGMENT:
You have the time? In other words you are not working much, huh?
So, tell me how much time you have to offer this program?

PART TWO OF THIS POST SEGMENT:
You say DO NOT want to make even lower prices available to my competitors.
Who else is going to be buying this stuff CHEAPER?
The guy in your town that is LOWBALLING YOUR PRICES?

As for me - I do not care about those LOWBALL Clowns. My prices are a little higher than MOST companies!

NEXT PART CODY - You hit it on the nose!
You said .....
Do you guys have any idea how much $$$ it would take to support #3,5,6,7,&8. OMG Tons of cash!

Thank you!

My Point Exactly!

One thing I have got to say -

These are the kind of topics I LOVE!!!!!!!!!
Something a guy can really bite into!

Hey Ms. Shirley! You're next!

You said -

Well, you just missed out on 2 of the most profitable companies in America today. What about Microsoft and Fed ex.

MY COMMENT: No comparison!

What is being suggested here is to do what Wal-Mart is doing to small Mom & Pop business (killing their business by LOWBALLING PRICES {the double standard) & to the big guys like Kmart.

If Kmart is being hurt by Wal-Mart - WHO here has the money to start a fight with the BIG CHEMICAL SUPPLY COMPANIES?

LMAO!

Hey - I got to thinking!

Some of you MIGHT get hurt feelings by my way of saying things - PLEASE DON'T!

I LOVE debates - I think it's an Italian thing!

I don't do this to hurt feelings!

... to to show a different picture!

If you said Ford was better than Chevy - I'ld debate it!

If you said Chevy was better than Ford - I'ld debate it too!

This board is what I do instead of TV
(and sometimes instead WORK that needs to be done - Like now - I should be out trying to catch a customer to set up the time she wants the job done)

...but sometimes a guy has got to have some fun!

Thanks!

I have different ideas than most about the organization. As I always do

Obviously when buying we would set up pricing with local distributors for certain things such as chemicals and many tangible goods. Chemicals would be one thing that would need to be set up locally because the cost of shipping would be outrageous. This might mean we would be using the same person. Instead of paying 45.00 dollars for a 5 gallon pail your paying 65.00 for 55 gal drum. I have talked with several guys here and have verified with most that their chemicals are way too much money. I have heard of people paying as much as 600.00 for a generator I pay 210.00. I think graig said it; it will work for some and not for others. We are not just talking about buying in bulk, experience in guys that have been buying quality stuff for years and just know where to find the best prices will also help.

We have already established that not all things get shared on this board. I have not told anyone how I pay less than 1.00 per five-gallon bucket of the best chemical on earth. I use to pay 20 to 30 dollars a pail just like everyone else. The dam bucket costs me 7.00 dollars. I reuse those. There will be two comments here about my pricing. The first will be a jealousy denial that Ron can’t buy chemicals that cheap. The other I will get by e-mail, why are you telling them that. Be quite I don’t need my competitors finding out they can get chemicals that cheap. Please don’t tell them how. Come on Ron you and I know but does the rest of the world need to know. Frankly I’m tired of seeing folk get taken to the cleaners. Most here think when they pay a certain price they are getting a good deal. That’s ok they are not. Volume would be a wonderful asset but education and knowledge is also a great thing. Don’t let your ego get in the way of your pocket book. Guy’s distributors mark up all these things at least 100%. If you think they paid 450.00 for that widget they sold you for 500.00 you are mistaken. Craig is right about buying power I only want to add experience and knowledge too buying power principals. Some one tells me the best price they ever got on a generator 3500 watt for a skid unit. Remember I’m going to ask for proof because I will supply mine if need be. I want to know anyone that has purchased a 3500 watt generators besides the sponsor of our board mark. My price recently was 210.00 plus a couple of bucks for shipping. Hey lets not be ashamed let’s everyone tell how much we paid for this generator. If you have never got a generator price this item and post your best price. I’m willing to bet on this one small item we can save you 200.00 on average. Prove me wrong I know aran will try. And even if he does he will be the 1% that gets good prices. Yes retail on this you will find is about 450.00. Well let’s ask mark at pressurewashing zone. How much retail mark? The same unit landa and hydrotech uses on there machines.

The network itself is what interests me. I think there will be more money made in this area. I think with proper training we could take the market and real do a lot of good. We could launch a national campaign on educating customers. The strength and unity in numbers could revolutionize this industry. Standards for major customers nation wide would be appetizing to those who have had frustration with other company’s that have not performed. Teaching and educating people like a fine-tuned well-oiled machine. (NATIONAL ACCOUNT recognition) this is when a major player recognizes thru their purchasing dept. we are there source for needs nation wide. Talk about marketing and strategic battle on competitors. I know of no franchise pressure washers with this capability to be recognized by a major fortune five hundred company as their sole source for business. Why?????????? Not one of them is large enough to handle it. They cannot even pursue it. Lance makes claims that he has done it. We know that’s bullshit. Working together to better the local markets and grow our businesses larger or at the rate you would like to see them grow.

Aran ,

I have read many times from you think small stay small. Why do you not have the dream that this could be a great conglomerate just like fed-x or Microsoft its self. I know you certainly can add substance to the group. Why would you want to miss something this great? So you can tell your children I could have been apart of that but made a huge mistake son. What have we got to loose trying. Pride a little cash some time spent talking a researching with others. Hell this post probably cost me 200.00, I should be out selling right now. Gotta go bye, chow, astalavista guys

Hey guys let quit comparing our selves to wal-mart or k-mart. Think of some giant that has taken the service industry by storm. We can learn more by studying them than comparing ourselves to retail stores.

I don’t want this organization to be non-profit. I want every member to share revenues. How? I don’t know yet. Maybe I will not be a part of this org. maybe I will. I would like to see some fundamental goals written. Maybe we can move forward by asking supporters to submit ideas only. The negative aspects are for those who will not join anyway. I know in normal circumstances the bb provides objective opinions. In this case those who know it will help can move forward with out problems.

Maybe voices chat tonight to discuss this issue. Fundamental goals and establish a temporary leader to guide the group in the right direction. Establish a voting system so we can pan out decisions that are split.

I think a few of us see a larger picture and some are close-minded. Maybe we can open minds.

The ones that are afraid to look outside of the box will never get out. Some who look out will fail, others will succeed. On lookers feed like scavengers and scoop up the crumbs from the attackers. No matter how you look at it. Everyone in life falls under some category and will either be disappointed, rewarded, content or selfish.

All you can do is offer an idea, some will work towards it and some wont. Some will stand behind and pick up the crumbs and will be happy with that. We all decide our own path and will have to be content with the out come. Everyone’s level of success if different and decided from within.

Happy or not you are were your at from your own doing. If your satisfied, there is know need for change. I have created a good live for my family and I. I also realize that I have created a job for myself and I am not satisfied with that. I can get a job anywhere. My vision is to create something much more than I can get down the street. It will come from doing, not watching, thinking about it or sitting on my ass. This is a choice. I will not be disappointed if I fall short because I know I will put forth a valiant effort. That can be rewarding in itself.

There is a difference in putting in what you have too, and putting more than you can. You can succeed to a certain extent either way. But I feel if I put in just a little more it will be more rewarding than I anticipated.

This talk of lowballers in my opinion is ridiculous. There has always, in every industry been low life companies. they have their place with the other low life companies that choose them.

If you are a knowledgeable company that operates properly. They will not effect you ever. The people who us them either learn from there mistakes and realize when you need something tangible you have to pay a tangible price to a legitimate company.

If they don't learn that means they are satisfied and have no need to move towards the light. Good for them and the lowballers. Everyone's views are different and they base their decision on that.

If you’re worried, something is wrong with what you are doing and it's up to you to make the change not the lowballer.

I think it would be a Referal and rental service. If someone needs a job done in the cleaning bussness the referal service would refer, and schedual, and get 10%. If they want to do it theirself rent the equipmenet and a tape on how to do the job. Of coarse the tape would be one of the professionals on the list of contractors. The service would include;
Carpet Cleaning, Hood Cleaning, Pressure washing, Painting, Line striping, Janitorial, Gardening, Handyman service, Concrete and brick laying, Carpentry, Electrical, Heating and Airconditioning, Plumbing, Drain Cleaning, Tree removal, and any other service you can think of.

ALRIGHT BIGBOY! Here to pull your hair too!
Don't want yer feelings hurt!

FIRST THING - I like the word Co-Op! Many dirt under the ol' nais working folks know that word!

Here is a problem I see with this.
YOU SAID -> If you get the 100 this year and only 50 the next, you would have to do some leg work to keep it going, but it will work. <- How will he live? if money is short - who is going to feed him and his? Who is going to put shoes on his babies feet? ...supper on the table? ... or fix something in his house? You see - NO ONE is talking about that! That is another REAL EXPENSE! If 100 people joined & paid $200.00 a year each - thats ONLY $20,000.00 - my house payment & electric cost me over $12,600.00 a year - now add $100.00 a week for food you have spent $17,800.00 for a year. Now add another $20.00 a week for gas in the ol' buggy now yer at $18,840.00 a year. Lets hope you don't have any major problem with your car or truck!

WHAT ABOUT being for real about how many are going to join?
Let's say it is starting here today! How many people are talking about this subject? How many have seen it and didn't even think it was WORTH COMMENTING ABOUT?

There are a LOT of people roaming around on this board. Not many are showing interest!

OH WELL!

ENOUGH SAID ......

Hey BIGBOY! Did I pull yer hair enough!
Have a good one!

Like you said it takes members that are willing to tough it out because of growing pains. If you get the 100 this year and only 50 the next, you would have to do some leg work to keep it going, but it will work.It could make alot of the chemicals in our trade,ect.ect.It took the farmers co-op a few times to get started but look at them now.The 15 grand is just a drop of rain on the lake but at least its a drop.

Your going to run into problems like me and another p/w that can already buy from some companys like sp----==t, t--f and Har--se.We (those) would be the ones that will hold back alittle because it took awhile to get it,don't want to cut their on adams apple as what they have now.

I'm satisfied with my buying power now but would go with the co-op (IF) I seen it was going to make a goal.

Aran,

FIRST THING - I like the word Co-Op! Many dirt under the ol' nais working folks know that word! Hey, you do have a little sense to ya.

Your worried about 19 grand, heck i pay more than that in INCOME TAX from my REAL job, not to mention the pw business that has became my #1 income over real job.

WHAT ABOUT being for real about how many are going to join? good point, and i think that is all Ron is trying to find out right now, to see if this is even worthy of persuing.

Let's say it is starting here today! How many people are talking about this subject? How many have seen it and didn't even think it was WORTH COMMENTING ABOUT?

Yeah, BUT, how many people want to see the figures. How many want to know the ins and outs. Just because they arent talking, doesnt mean they arent reading. You know thats true. Just as you are, i always want to see the facts before jumping in, its just that i have done the calling, and i see facts, but i also see some hurdles. Not high hurdles, but hurdles.

If you call dat a hairing pulling I couldn't have even got on the other side if dat road.

I'm still for the co-op
cuz I see other ways making money
."How will he live" He doesn't dat why you would as a member do some leg work or they want either. When dat one can't make it,it one more ya don't have to worry bout, plus someone, maybe more then likely it would be a member taking on the business which in return means more money in my pocket if I was a member
.It will be tough and the hills will get pretty hard to climb because he's not the one you haveta worry bout. The smaller mom and pop chemical stores, supply stores,ect.ect. will the ones stepping on the co-op toes not the lowballer as some callem,it would be like walking in a bears den with just a small switch but if you can stay in there long enuff you could finally switch some of those bears out but you would know you have been in a fight. They will start lowering their prices to match the co-ops but in a fews, several years by by
means more money for the co-op
because the co-op is trying (WILL) control the market.

I have know choose who I buy my electic from because its owned by a co-op.I'm a member of that co-op but old Joe can have it at the same cost as me but old Joe making me money because me got a bigger share of the co-op.
As you said look at how many that are talking about it and is for it
.I know you can do alot of the chat chat on the pc's but I also see alot alot alot of leg work for members to even get it off the ground but I'm not worried cuz Ron said he would paid for dat.

The one that don't make it will be setting back in a corner waiting til he see's another way to fight back and he will if it wasn't his choose to close his doors.

The co-op will take several years before alot of us will realize its to late to realize,I'll never see it at my age but maybe it help my kids, grandkids in days to come, who knows. It want be easy for the co-op of this kind and it want be the last time some will try it.
In closing this will my last post on the matter,I'll set back and watch for awhile.
