Illegal Immigrants

This is a letter floating around supposedly sent to Senator Frist.

"Dear Senator Frist:

There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.

#1.
Illegal aliens generally do NOT want U.S. citizenship. Americans are very vain thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a U.S. citizen.

Mexicans, and other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining the benefits offered by the United States such as employment, medical care, in-state tuition, government subsidized housing, and free education for their offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans. What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying the price.

#2.
There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a decent wage.

#3.
Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries. They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than $20 billion sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and, therefore, assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their alien children assumed the responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.

#4.
Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful U.S. residents.

#5.
This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.

#6.
The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants by definition. The U.S. accepts more lawful immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined.

#7
There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote". Hispanics are white, brown, black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats, Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.

#8.
Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States. Since 1848 Mexicans have resented the United States. During World War I, Mexico allowed German Spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the U.S.; During World War II, Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the U.S. from Mexico; During the Cold War, Mexico allowed spies hostile to the U.S. to operate freely. The attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico. Today, Mexican school children are taught that the U.S. stole California, Arizona, new Mexico and Texas. If you don't believe it, checkout some Mexican textbooks written for their schoolchildren.

#9.
Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6 billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak into America, then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to break the law and trash another nation?

#10.
There is a labor shortage in this country? This is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students, unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.

#11.
It is racist to want secure borders? What is racist about wanting secure borders and a secure America? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens, children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying the price?

For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There has already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to U.S. citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep either way.

There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the courage to do what is right for America? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs of those who don't even have the right to remain here? There will be a reckoning. It will come in November of this year, again in 2008 and yet again in 2010. We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves."

nothing like some good propaganda to distract the masses. maybe we can get the blacks to fight with 'em too.
Seriously what a bunch of unfounded, unbackedup statements. Why is this all of the sudden a hot issue? Who talked about this last year?
these politicians are just circus clowns distracting the masses while they carry off the bodies from the wrecked roller coaster.

I have no respect for people who are here illegally. Try and go to their country and see if you get the same treatment that we give them. By the time the illegals have worked one day they have committed 4 felonies.
They don't pay taxes, they send their money out of our country, they are a burden to our schools and our medical care sytem. Money sent from the USA is mexicos largest source of income.

I've got no problem with someone coming here to make a better life for themselves.

I draw the line when emergency rooms are shutting their doors because they've been giving out so much fee care, they don't have enough money to continue operating. It happend in California last winter.

I draw the line when American citizens are afraid for their safety when illegal immigrants are coming across their property in the dead of the night, stealing water, food, vandalizing property, & sleeping in barns. It happens DAILY in Texas & Arizona.

I draw the line when illegal immigrants come to our schools and our teachers are forced to learn Spanish (or lose their jobs) so they can communicate with non-English speaking students. Don't believe me? Do a search in the Dallas Morning News archives. You'll find the story.

When our school system is forced by the government to cater to the non-English speaking children by teaching them in their native language. Ex: A 7th grade student in Texas did not speak English. He was put into class with the other students and given a special tutor. (at taxpayer cost) He passed the 7th grade and will be in 8th grade next year. (at taxpayer cost) How did he pass English class? He was taught in his OWN language, remember? They think by the time he graduates, (yes, I said "graduates") he will have picked up enough English from the other students.(LOL)
How do I know? He's in my son's class!

So, I can not stress enough. (Listen up, Liberals) Anytime you give the government control over something, they will make a mess of it.

Asbestos, while I respect your opinion, it seems to be a bit unfounded and rediculous to say the least. I doubt Puget Sound is about to be overrun by illegal immigrants. But if you do a little research, you'll find that this is in fact a HUGE problem. Oh, by the way: I've got no problem paying $2.50 for a head of lettuce if it means paying a decent wage for an American to have a job. You're half right. Americans don't want those jobs because they don't pay enough. I bet if they paid a decent wage, we'd have no problems putting hard working Americans to work. But we Americans have families to feed. That's why lettuce is cheap. Which sounds better? Paying a little less for lettuce, or giving a U. S. citizen a job?

Think I'm a racist? No. I'm a citizen of the United States, and I don't want people coming here (for whatever reason) and gettin handouts form our government at my expense. I don't like my son's education bogged down by a good teacher having to take the time to learn a second language to cater to one student or lose his/her job. I don't think U. S. citezens should have to live in fear without being able to protect themselves.

Oh! One more thing. I still love a good laugh. Offended? I really don't care. I don't believe in Political correctness, either.Immigration Video

we all have a right to an oponion thats one of the things that makes our country great......people talk about racism....well thats funny ,people act like its a crime for a white man to have "white pride" but its important for ethnic reasons to have black pride and brown pride.does it make me a racist to be proud of the works of my ancestors ,the millions of white europeans that have flourished accross europe and america for hundreds of years ,who founded this once great country ,a country which has seemingly lost direction and is now looked at as a welfare center that will hand out money to the poor ,the statue of liberty has an inscription that says give me your poor ,your tired .....ect....well its americans (true americans )that are poor and tired and hungry....we must take our country back and close these borders to the river jumpers that dont belong here ,i have no problem with mexicans so dont get that wrong i just have problems with the illeagle ones that have no buisness

Amen, Russ. I forgot one thing:
If it's so easy for Julio Edgardo Rubio Sanchez Gonzalez to get here illeagally, then why would it not be for Achmed Habib Akbar Mohammed Hussien?
hint: The latter is the one who wants to kill us all, no matter our political beliefs.

you are exactly right but this is what you get from the save the planet ,welfare promoting ,no gun ,none meat eaters that wanna run things and think there oponion matters to me .i personally with the founding fathers that made this country great,now we have a bunch of self satisfying politcs all over looking out for number one ,zoning ,bussing and wanting to keep education fair and on a level where all can get the same education ,the only problem is that our kids are having to get a lesser education to keep up with the minority!!!!!!! :burn:

what about affermative action?????? arrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhh...i hate that word!!!!!or should i say words so i wont get picked at but i guess these are unfounded oponions as well........so lets see i am supposed to be supportive of giving a job to a minority because of his skin tone ,that does not actually qualify for the job in the first place....now that makes since but its ok because we have suppressed them for years lets see lincoln freed the slaves like 150 years ago?????how long does it take to get your act together????

well im going to work now so i can give half to the govt to take care of the ones who can sell drugs to our kids and rob our homes and shoot guns in the steet ,oh and lets not forget they can walk run talk speak and ask for stuff but they are disabled and what about the ones running into the country with their hands out ....and we will fill it......im gone [lm]

It boils down to this for me.... Level playing field.. I have to overcome lots of objections when trying my best to sell a job at a decent wage because of these illegals. They work for very low wages because they have no expenses. If I didn't have to pay taxes, pay for insurance (I have alot to lose if I were to get sued), pay for healthcare, pay for school lunches, car insurance or high mortgage to live in a decent nieghborhood, then I too, could work for less.

White, Black, Hispanic or ANY other race makes no difference to me. A level playing field is all I want. Enforce the laws on these people. Work without a License or without paying taxes.... fines, jail time, deport... whatever it takes to make them understand that it isn't fair to skip all the red-tape and get an advantage over us that jump through the loops and MUST charge decent wages just to break even, much less turn a profit.

We pay higher premiums due to workers that tear up homes. We pay higher for those fly by night guys that pay the first in stallment on the policy and fly the certificate around all year claiming to be insured doing work for half of what it is worth. Our Health bills are high in order to cover the free work that gets done.

It's one thing to let them in, a totally different hing to allow them to just do as they please and work without being taxed, tear up property without recourse, Drive without insurance, etc....

I could go on for days.... Notice that it isn't just the illegals either, we compete everyday against guys that cut corners and low-ball the crap out of us. Enforcement is the way to go or change the laws completely to afford us that same opportunity to work without insurance and taxes.

Enough from me. Just had to spill what I don't like about the illegals. Race hasn't one thing to with it. My pocketbook does!!!

I have found that Mexicans are some of the most honest hard working people I have ever met. They seem to be very appreciative of anything they get, and are very proud of their work. I would guess that as far as the welfare goes, if some research was done we would find that there are only a very small percentage of Mexicans receiving welfare.

Just to set the record straight, I don't have anything against Mexicans. You are absolutely right. Most ARE in fact good, hard working people who just want a better way of life for their families. Just as long as it's done LEGALLY. Hello? What is so hard to understand about this? We don't need new laws. All we need is to enforce the ones we have to get control of this mess.
Too many people want to take the shortcuts. And our government is more than willing to bend over and kiss their asses just to get a few more votes. Illegal immigrants don't have the right to vote, you say? There are about 2 Legal immigrants to every one who do have the right to vote. Don't believe they are watching to see if the polititians do what they want? Think again!
By the way, if a certain handful of democratic congressmen/congresswomen have their way, it won't be long before illegals DO have the right to vote in California, Matt.
Then you will likely join the ranks of those of us who are fed up with our inheritance being trampled on by a bunch of freeloaders with their hands out.
Is it any wonder that Mexican President Vicente Fox began his reelection campaign in San Diego?

You are very correct. However, they HONESTLY work HARD for an extremely low wage bringing the rest of our wages down. If we held them responsible for taxes and paying thier own healthcare and make them go through all the red-tape we go through to be in business and to LEGALLY live here... ie.. Law says I MUST pay Taxes...Law says I MUST have car Insurance.. Law says to get my contractors license, I MUST show proof of GL Insurance.

I'm sure that if these things are enforced on those HONEST and HARD working Individuals they too, would find that the HONEST HARD work they do is worth so much more. As we know, some don't want them to become legal so that they can continue to take advantage of the low labor cost and continue to get rich off of that HONEST HARD work.

I had a supporter of the ilegals ask the question.. " What would the Horse Farms here in Lexington do without the Mexicans?" My answer.. I suppose they won't be able to pay $250,000 for a horse and pay a decent wage for shoveling horse crap. I suppose the Horse Owners will have to "sacrifice" and buy 60 Million Dollar farms instead of 70 Million. (Yes, some of the Farms here were purchased for that.)

Actually, a Mexican mows my Lawn. He has top equipment, Insurance, speaks excellent English, charges top dollar and is a Legal citizen. I very well understand that they are Hard Working.

Equal Playing Field is what I want.

Amazing but you should know that Mexico has VERY tough illegal immigration laws!Shouldn't we treat illegals from Mexico teh same way their government would treat us????

Check it out !

QUOTE:
Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven't been sharing that idea with us as they press for our Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill.

That's too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.

At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in line with foreign legal norms, it's noteworthy that nobody has argued that the U.S. look at how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve

our illegal immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

+ in the country legally;
+ have the means to sustain
+ themselves economically;
+ not destined to be burdens on society;
+ of economic and social benefit to society;
+ of good character and have no criminal records; and
+ contributors to the general well-being of the nation.

Law also ensures that:

+ immigration authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
+ foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
+ foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country's internal politics;
+ foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
+ foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
+ those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.

Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense. The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens -- and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Poblacion, or

General Law on Population, spells out specifically the country's immigration policy.

It is an interesting law -- and one that should cause us all to ask, Why is our great southern neighbor pushing us to water down our own immigration laws and policies, when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a crime punishable by more than one year in prison, then Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.

If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.

We looked at the immigration provisions of the Mexican constitution. [1] Now let's look at Mexico's main immigration law.

Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:

Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)

Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)

Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)

The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)

Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:

Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)

A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)

A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).

Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:

Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)

Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)

Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:

Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)

Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)

Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned.

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,

"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)

Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)

Foreigners who "attempt against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126)

Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:

A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)

Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132)

All of the above runs contrary to what Mexican leaders are demanding of the United States. The stark contrast between Mexico's immigration practices versus its American

immigration preachings is telling. It gives a clear picture of the Mexican government's agenda: to have a one-way immigration relationship with the United States.

Let's call Mexico's bluff on its unwarranted interference in U.S. immigration policy. Let's propose, just to make a point, that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) member nations standardize their immigration laws by using Mexico's own law as a model.

I agree it's all about enforcement.It still doesn't mean that I should pay for the free ride that illegals get.I live in a farming community and all to often see amercian citizens that are turned away from jobs because employer prefer to hire illegals at lower wages.In my state Ga. our governor just signed a new law that will fine business owners who knowingly hire illegals and do not confirm proper documention or don not hold back state and federal taxes on them.
In Ga. alone there are about 1 million illegals.
I'm tired of hearing employers use the excuse that americans don't want the jobs.The fact is americans want the jobs but want more that below minimum wage for them.I could take you to a handful of farm where mexican crew bosses receive the check for 30 - 40 people and pay out less than federal minimum wage(yes,they are screwing people of their nationality).Illegals have driven dowm the wages of many trade type jobs included painters,construction,landscapers,welders etc.......
If they are here legally I have no problem with them making a living,but if they ran the border,tunneled in or were shipped in on a truck......send them back ASAP.
Don't think for a second it's all about mexicans I feel the same about anyone who enters our county illegally.It's time to put a stop to the gravy train for those whom cannot abide by the laws of our country.
Keep in mind we aren't just getting people who want to make a better future..we also get a large population of the criminal element.Drug dealers,gang members and murderers.Just the kind of folks you want moving in next door.

For years it has been illegal to hire an undocumented worker. It's even illegal and punishable by law to hire someone without a valid SSN. I still say this issue is the "flavor of the week" distraction from real issues like healthcare, the environment and the ever-widening chasm between the have's and the have not's.
