I am not in fear of my livelyhood, actually everytime someone that does not have a clue about flue cleaning starts up a new business (and there are plenty) that flops it adds to my credibility. Sure I may lose a few customers for a while, but they come back...and I have to charge extra to clean up the mess that was left by the unexperienced, unqualified, untrained guy. This guy in Florida, wanting to take on a chain that I have never heard of, sure I wish him luck and if he decides to do it I will help him where ever I can (wont affect me or my business). The point I was making is that flue cleaning is nothing like cleaning dumpster pads and sidewalks and knowledge of the mechanical, fire, Osha and health codes is manditory as is the correct insurance and some training (not some $16,000 Tennessee thing) by shaddowing a flue cleaner from some city outside of your area for a month will get someone a lot further than telling him yea go for it! and then laughing at him when he falls on his face.
