That is a point well taken. I guess I am just getting a little jaded. I see and here so many claims that I feel are either not possible or unlikely in the circumstances that are mentioned that I look at every thing with a jaundiced eye. Then on top of that everyone claims to make so many cents a square foot or so much a truck and I don't see how they can get that much. It just blows me away. I am willing to tell how long I figure to wash something, but, I can also see a new guy getting frustrated because he can't keep up that pace. Maybe I just look at things differently. I do know that I make a fair profit and keep reasonably busy. There is seldom a week that goes by that we don't work at least thirty hours. I could probably work more, but I choose not to work that much. But back to the topic, a time guide would be great. It would be interesting to say how much time it would take versus years of experience. It could also be entertaining.

Try to make between $45-$100 per hour, since no one has the same equptment or does everything the exact same way this is an individual call.

This is not price fixing!

This is establishing the COST of DOING BUSINESS!

What does it cost to make ENOUGH money at pressure washing?

What does the market bare?
If there is a low and high range - it is not a fixed price! A fixed price is $X.xx and no less/ no more!

If this were price fixing then Walmart would be screwed! (because they LOWBALL the small guy out of business)

This is not trying to dictate what the market is going to get - we are trying to keep the little guy from selling his service too low!
IF he doesn't make enough $$ he can not stay in business. AND his/her customer will be totally shocked when they get a REAL bid from another company (after the newbie is out of business)!

Look at poor Craig! MOST of you think that what he is offering is a couple hour job - HAAAAAAAAAAA! I build websites on the side - I have a real good idea that he will hate himself for opening up this can of worms!

God Bless ya' bud! I wouldn't want that task!

Craig,

Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your father in-laws house. One of my biggest fears is house fire. I sure hope noone was hurt.

Take care, Kathy

So have a price guide with a description of the services provided. Educate the rookies and the customers. You could have a brief description in the price giving the type of equipment used along with cleaning procedure. I know sometimes myself I wish I had a procedure manual. Newbies, vets and customers would gain from a standard manual on how to clean and a general prices guide. I don’t really see how you would create a price guide with out a description??????????????, just a thought!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now a procedural manual would be agreat benefit. I know that when I am giving a large proposal I always detail the procedure and what can be expected. That way if there is a question about the procedure I can refer them to the proposal and verify that we are doing exactly what we said and usually a little bit more. It would also be a benefit to those starting out. It would help them to know some of the basic techniques for cleaning things. I can feel the wheels starting to turn already
