    Silicone Removal from windows

I wanted to update my method for heavey silicon. In a response a few months back I mentioned Dicone NC-9...this product is awesome but expensive. Recently druing a big window CCU job, the glazers had touched every pane with silicon-sticky fingers leaving bazillions of deposits on every...

    Pressure washing or squeegee

Nothing...absolutely nothing will get them as clean as the tradditional way. However, pressure washing the windows (low pressure of course) and rinsing well with DI water can leave them cleaner than just leaving them alone.... The trick is knowing how to rinse. I know your thread is about...

    Shurflo AC/DC

I have both set-ups. The AC pump gets VERY hot with 200 foot of hose. The out-put is not much higher..of course that has more to do with my flow rate. I like the DC version much better. Here's a tip. Go to a boat store and buy a marine battery that can be laid down without problems. That way...

    varnish on windows!

Fabrication debris is a huge issue cross country. You are very lucky if you dont have to deal with it. It could be that the glass manufacturer (s) only send the good stuff to your area. But dont be fooled into thinking you are not scratching glass as a result of your talent. No offense...

    X-Jet VS. Extension pole

I suppose it is a mtter of preference...until you get into that spot where you need to be right on the second floor wall. I have both but use my x0jet 99% of the time. I had rather use an x-jet with a ladder than drag the extension wand out and hold it ofr ten minutes...I am a wussy. I used my...

    Silicone Removal from windows

Oil flow doesnt do much for silicon...however, there is a new product out that eats it up. it is call dicone nc9 and is 78 bucks a gallon. I have not tried it...I see no need. I have found that most of the time, silicon is a smear somewhere on the glass where the glazer touched the pane...

    Stucco

Atlanta can be humid....I live in florida where it is humid always. My point is that the "dirt" my clients want me to remove is often the staining left by algae. The black streaks and spots where the algae was using the paint, stucco and substrate as a food source. If left unattended for some...

    varnish on windows!

Often, I will follow a glazer who has put a dozen or so finger prints in the glass during the install. Of course, on his finger was silicon. I tired a bazillion things to remove but my favorite is 0000 wool and no water. The trick is rubing lightly. The reason I use no water is, when the silicon...

    varnish on windows!

On non hardened glass and with the right chemicals, I can scapre a pane once and it is clean. Of course, I will then need to strip and squeegee. I am not sure what excessive scraping is...no offense meant. If a pane has NO fab debris, I can run a blade across it a thousand times...no prob...
