Mike,

I agree with you that Jeb is one to watch for the future. He understands the Hispanic culture and speaks the language fluently. This could be the difference in 4 years - it is becoming more and more of a factor. In the Denver public school system Spanish is the majority language. Probably Jeb would win my state with ease. Will be interesting.

<font color=e87400>If Jeb gets into office I'm moving to Canada. I don't think nepotism belongs in the oval office!!!

It's a bummer "to me" that Karl Rove won it, oops I mean Bush won it, I just hope I'm dead wrong about him. I really really hope so. Unfortunately I doubt it. He's bent on more of the same & now by being reelected he will be reaffirmed in his beliefs he's doing the right thing. I suppose if I were a religious man this is where I'd say "God help us all!

Bush WON, The Republicans WON the House and the SENATE!! A Clean sweep!! America has spoken and it was Unanimous. Case closed. Now Kerry can just go away and vote to raise taxes somewhere like he did 93 times in the senate.

The Best man WON and look for Guliani to go up against Billary in 08.

Everyone should read Because He Can by Dick Morris. Will give one and all a close look at the Clintons. I am sure that she is happy as a clam in sea weed. [white]

Well Bush did win. He was elected by about 25% of the eligible voters. 25% of American adults agreed with him enough to have bothered voting. One state is hardly unanimous.

Exactly.....

Bush won a clean sweep ? This just shows how close minded you people are. Did you all cow pokes even see the election ? Almost 50% of the voting public voted against the cowboy. For you dont understand people, that means 1/2 of the U.S. did not want Bush to be president. Are you not seeing this. Not to mention, the States with the highest probability of being attacked voted for Kerry.

I can only agree with CODY, God help us. I just hope, that next year or maybe in 2006 when we go to war with Iran/North Korea, that CaroliProWash, Clean County, crispy crittr, Dan S, Dave Olson, Everett, Mark, Michael T, Oldtimer, oneness, Scott Stone, SPOTLESS, squirtgun, Stan, Walt Graner are the first ones to strap on the ole camo and walk the walk.

Talk your Talk about who won, but 50% of this county (not only your country) voted against your rhetoric and your beliefs.

We will see.......

The most in history
The most Votes

Hey I thought we were supposed to
put aside our differences for the good
of our country?

Let's give that a try!

I think Marks is right...its a done deal.
Dan and OneCall both have meaningful points.

Bush did win.

He is our prez because little over 25% of the eligible voters thought he was the better choice. Thats 1-3% more than the number of people who didn't want him in. Another 45% of voters didn't think there was much of a difference one way or the other. 1-3% is hardly a slam-dunk. In the real world it was about the closest election ever.

I personally think the whole thing is sad.. Not only because Bush won either..

Imagine the statistics that some of you have listed, approximatly 45% of eligible voters actually voted?

Many of us (including myself) have volunteered for military service to protect our rights including our right to vote and thats all that could drag their butts to the polls?

I'm not happy that Bush won but I wasn't really that wild about Kerry either. It was a vote of who could do the best job, or cause the least harm to the things I'm concerned about from the two main people running for election.

That's the true tragedy of the whole election...

Are there any politicians out there that truly care about what the people want or just their own personal ambitions?

Another sad issue,, what happened to the kids that were supposed to go out and vote? All the money, time and media coverage to get the hip hop generation out to the polls seemed to be a complete waste of time.

I really do care about this country but it seems that only about 45% of us care enough to do something for it.

Closest election ever? I have not hear that one before,
guess it dependswhere you obtain your data.

Here is an e-mail I received this morning.

"Dear Mark,

We had a long night -- and we had a great night. The voters turned out in record numbers and delivered an historic victory.

I want to thank our supporters across this country. At every stop I asked you to make the calls, put up the signs, talk to your neighbors, and get out the vote. And because you did your part, we are celebrating today. Thanks to you, we received more votes than any presidential ticket in history.

America has spoken. And I am humbled by the trust and confidence of my fellow citizens. With that trust comes a duty: I will serve all Americans, so help me God. I am proud to lead such an amazing country -- and I am proud to lead it forward.

Reaching our goals will require the broad support of Americans. A new term is a new opportunity to reach out to the whole nation. We have one country, one Constitution, and one future that binds us all. And when we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America.

A campaign has ended, and our cause is renewed. The United States of America goes forward with confidence and faith. I can see a new day coming, and I am eager for the work ahead. God bless you all, and God bless America.

George W Bush"

Why not just let the thread die on its own? People have become pretty civil.

Just wondering ...this election wasn't ONE of the closest? It almost went to a tie. How much closer could it get? Enlighten me with your data.

Trust me, we won't miss your kind. As far as nepotism, W wouldn't be the one choosing Jeb for President, it would be the voters...that wouldn't be nepotism. If you need help with understanding why, I'd be happy to expound.

The people have spoken...It wasn't Karl Rove or Dick Cheney or anyone else but Bush who we elected as President. Yes, I believe you're dead wrong about him, but I doubt you or others here like you will ever see that, or admit it if you did.

I suppose if you were a religious man, many of your viewpoints on issues would be drastically different, and you'd very possibly be saying "Praise God" as I did late Tuesday night.
