    Water based Cuprinol

I was using the cuprinol water based the first part of 1999 and this year when going around to retreat, I found that using the EFC-38 from Ext. Solutions worked real good at getting it off without the extra step of stripping. I went back with the oil based product though, better color retention.

    Shocked at Real Estate Companies

I do some bank drive throughs here and Mike is right the entire building maintenance is contracted out to one company. I was contacted by that company and hired by them, not the bank. They end up billing the bank on their end and I'm sure they make a little money, but my prices were not...

    3 story building

A zero tip should work. You will have to just slowly back away as you come down the side. I've used this method on the back of some 2 story houses with walk outs. I can still hit the gutter fronts pretty good with a zero tip and thats at about 32 feet. If you're just rinsing, this would be the...

    Pool Cleaning?

Got a call to clean a pool the other day that has some very light discoloration in it. It is a light orange tint that is apparently caused by the iron in the water. In the past they have drained it applied a very diluted muratic acid solution and power washed. (They said this took them 3 days on...

    Stripping Wolman Extreme

Mike, I'd try the HD-80! I've used it several times now, and just last week used it on some solid color deck stain and it took better than 95% off the first time, and this solid color stain was just applied about 15 months ago. I mixed it a little stronger than the package said and...

    Ready Seal Problems (possibly)

Actually I have applied it at a rate as high as approximately 50 square feet per gallon on horizontal surfaces. In reality, if you have to apply it at a rate so high, you are going to use so much more product, that it really doesn't pay to use the stuff. I know its a great time saver since you...

    Ready Seal Problems (possibly)

Ready Seal????? I'm with JR here, I did well over a hundred decks last year mainly with Cuprinol Oil Based sealer, but I had about 18 or so I put on ready seal. So far this year, I have had 7 call backs, and all of them are the ready seal decks. All of them looked so dried out!! Color was much...

What do you pay for insurance

John, When I was insurance shopping, I sat down and wrote out 2 pieces of paper. One had a list of my equipment, liability needs/requirements, vehicle descriptions and all the other pertinant details regarding that type of info. The other page was a somewhat detailed summary of what I did as...

Anyone ever use a white stain?

Mike, I have stained a fence white before, 2 in fact. One was cedar and the other was CCA (pressure treated pine). I used the Cuprinol solid color deck stain white base. (Using the base is nice since you can return any unopen pails.) Anyway, This stuff will hold up 3-5 years on a deck so I'm...

    Uncle Sam

I used to maintain the postal vehicles (fleet wash) where I used to live and I always got paid in 30 days, which is what I originally set up. The lady in charge had me send in everything as far as w-9, insurance and other accounting info as soon as we agreed on the contract which wasn't going to...

    Removing new paint from concrete

The key is that he said fresh paint not stain. Paint being designed to adhere to the surface and stain is designed to absorb/penetrate slightly therefore you needed a stripper to lift the stain. Hot water and high pressure should do the trick. If need be you could try a little Bix in some areas...

Simpson pressure washers are distributed through your local Sherwin Williams store. You might go and see someone there and see if they can get you the needed info or phone numbers. Also the parent company is Alto and can be found in Clearwater Florida. I am currently unable to find the Alto...
